The Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) has been a program of The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services since 1986. PTAC is funded, in part, by the U.S. Department of Defense and administered through a cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency, so all of our services are delivered to you at no charge.

The University of Tennessee SBIR Assistance Center is designed to help companies receive awards and market their technologies to units of the government. The SBIR/STTR (Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer) program is a multiphase federal government initiative designed to provide funding for new and innovative "high-risk" technologies for entrepreneurs and companies.

The University of Tennessee University Center (UTUC) is a program within UT CIS that is designed to assist companies in Targeted Rural Areas (TRA) as defined by The State of Manufacturing in Tennessee report (2005) authored by the UT Center for Business and Economic Research. The UTUC is funded by the Economic Development Administration and economic development is the focus.
