Many companies are facing the need to develop strategies to pivot their product offerings and diversify their target markets in effort to grow the business. Here is information about two programs that can assist your organization with those strategies:
Southeast Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (SETAAC) Program
The Southeast Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (SETAAC) provides grants to help US based manufacturing companies that have lost sales and employment due to foreign competition. The program helps by developing and implementing projects to regain global competitiveness, expand markets, strengthen operations, and increase profitability, thereby increasing U.S. jobs.
State of Tennessee State Trade Expansion Program (STEP)
The Tennessee International Trade Center provides free export services similar to the Department of Commerce but specifically for companies that are small businesses.
In addition they offer financial assistance awards up to $10,000 for eligible export activity. Visit their website at https://www.tsbdc.org/ or email Leslee Alexander at lalexander@tsbdc.org.
