First Tennessee Development District will be hosting the Education to Employment (E2E) Summit this fall with two virtual sessions on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). A strength of the E2E summit is bringing different sectors together for conversation and learning. In keeping with this format, you will hear from partners from various sectors across the region on this topic.
The first session, scheduled for Thursday, October 29th, will include a panel of k-12 and post-secondary leaders sharing the life-changing things their institutions are doing in support of DEI. You don’t want to miss this important conversation. The local panel will be followed by a presentation from Natalie Overton, a Johnson City native with DEI work spanning multiple careers, including education, nonprofit and corporate.
The second session, scheduled for Thursday, November 5th, will include a conversation with the Regional DEI Alliance on the grassroots work being done by businesses and community members from across the region. That conversation will be followed by a presentation from Ron Harris, VP Diversity & Inclusion who will share the work and results around Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee’s journey and culture related to DEI.
You are encouraged to join both sessions regardless what sector you work in as there will be ideas you can incorporate from all of the conversations.
