UT CIS' Made in Tennessee initiative spotlights manufacturers from across the state to showcase their workforce, products and history. Most recently, UT CIS published a Video Spotlight for Allison Boats.
Allison Boats began in 1955 when Paul Allison built the first boat from wood. In the early 1960's he built fiberglass boats and won races from Miami, FL to Lincoln, NE. His son, Darris, built the first high-performance bass boat in 1969-1970, which created the now billion dollars + bass boat industry. Allison Boats are all original designs, never any copies. Because of the exclusive hull design, Allison Boats gives the customer a boat with great handling capability, a smooth ride and up to 3 times the fuel mileage of other outboard boats!
