Manufacturing Day in Carroll County

The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) provided support to students for Carroll County’s Nov. 3rd Manufacturing Day. The students participating in the plant tour can be seen wearing safety glasses provided by UT CIS Solutions Consultant Andre Temple and UT CIS. This tangible support of this annual Manufacturing Day events is but one example of the ongoing UT CIS partnership with Tennessee manufacturing.

MFG Day

Students from Carroll County Technical Center in Huntingdon TN toured Hydro-Gear on Thursday, Nov 3rd, for Manufacturing Day.  The groups totally 40 students from Huntingdon High, McKenzie High, West Carroll High, Clarksburg High and Bruceton-Hollow High Schools, collectively, were accompanied by CTE Instructor Mitchell Whitworth and CCTC Principal, Joe Norval.

The Hydro-Gear tour team, led by Plant Manager, Richard Hatchett, and HR Manager, Leigh Foster, provided the students with exposure to innovative robotic equipment, shared information about the process of manufacturing transmissions for zero-turn lawn mowers and other products they are venturing into, and provided a great understanding of a wide spectrum of career opportunities available in the Carroll Co community through Hydro-Gear.
