The Tennessee Managing Economic Development Course focuses on building an effective economic development organization, as well as building interpersonal skills to better address economic development challenges and opportunities. Topics include measuring performance, communications strategies, leadership skills, navigating the political landscape, roles of key leaders and the generational divide. This class is one of a series of economic development courses, provided by the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services, designed to share best practices and trends with Tennessee’s economic development practitioners, community leaders, elected officials and private industry.
