Federal agencies spend research and development (R&D) budgets that exceed $1 billion each year in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
UT CIS's economic development and government contracting (PTAC) teams will be hosting the upcoming virtual SBIR/STTR Commercialization Event in order to help you understand how you can take advantage of these opportunities. Participants will also hear from a variety of subject matter experts.
“The SBIR/STTR programs are a tool that small businesses should know about as they work to bring new ideas to the marketplace," says Beth Phillips, Director of Economic Development at UT CIS. "Each year, over $20 million is competitively awarded to Tennessee companies by federal agencies to stimulate innovation and growth. UT CIS is pleased to help companies and communities better understand and connect to this valuable resource.”
It doesn't matter if this is your first introduction to SBIR/STTR or if you are very familiar with the topic; this FREE event is for you!
Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Manager Paul Middlebrooks says, "the UT CIS SBIR program wants to help companies with their technology commercialization process. Come learn about spending as much time and effort on the commercialization of the technology that you put into developing it."
