The UT Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) is committed to helping organizations utilize a holistic methodology to improve the workplace. Smart Talent Systems (STS), is a systems-thinking approach to helping organizations assess and improve their internal people development (PD) system. This system consists of five functional areas – training, recruiting, onboarding, retention, and performance management.

Today’s challenge is to operate a reliable PD system that provides the organization with a competitive advantage in a highly volatile labor market. An efficient, well-administered PD system can attract and retain people and contribute to the success of any company.
