The Tennessee Retail Development Course is a one-and-a-half day course which focuses on how to develop, implement and evaluate an effective retail recruitment strategy. Course topics include retail trends, the impact retail has on a community, prospecting and recruiting strategies, site selection and the deal making process, among others.
This course is one of a series provided by UT Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) designed to share best practices and trends with Tennessee’s economic development practitioners, private industry leaders, community leaders and elected officials.

The registration fee covers course materials, instruction, selected meals and refreshment breaks. It does not cover hotel and other travel expenses. Registration is limited to 35 participants and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please remit payment for the course no later than 10 days prior to the course start date. If payment is not received, you risk having your registration cancelled to make room for those on the waitlist.

Scholarships cover $295 of the $395 early registration course fee, and do not include hotel, travel or meals. Scholarship recipients will be required to pay $100 of the tuition cost, which will not be refundable should the participant withdraw from the course. Applications must be received by [TBA] to be considered for a scholarship.
