TN Workforce Development Academy – Coming Soon!

The Economic Development team at the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) is developing a Workforce Development Academy in order to help bridge the gap between workforce and economic development. 

The Academy also aims to provide workforce development practitioners and other community leaders with professional development opportunities not available in Tennessee.  The overarching goal is to help strengthen workforce development systems, particularly in rural areas. 

Key drivers of the WFD Academy include: 

• Strengthen alliances between workforce development, economic development and business and industry partners to advance economic development. 
• Enhance workforce development systems to address key state and regional goals, particularly in rural and distressed areas. 
• Support professional development needs identified by workforce development practitioners.
